About Gracie's Garden
How it began
Hi, I'm Kirsten. In 2025, I retired from a 25 year career helping others and became an empty nester. I needed a new purpose. Making things by hand isn't new to me — it's just what my family has always done, from my dad's woodworking to my mom's cake decorating to my grandmothers' quilting and knitting. I picked up a circular saw and paint brush and made my first sign.
How it's going
I began copying designs from makers I admired and have worked to create my own style which incorporates the beauty of natural wood. I enjoy every part of the sign making process. From cutting down the giant piece of plywood to painstakingly painting designs to fluffing the bows, every step brings joy and the opportunity to create something beautiful and unique.
Why I do it
Nothing feels more rewarding than turning your idea into a piece that shows off your style and personality. From working with new homeowners and newlyweds to create the perfect porch sets, to helping an employee wow her boss with a custom door hanger, I have the honor of taking a vision and turning it into a beautiful treasure.
Why Gracie's Garden
I named the business after my yellow lab, Gracie. She loves to wander through my flower garden, nose deep in every flower, reminding me to slow down and enjoy the little things — that's the feeling I hope every sign brings into your home too.
